This little light…

I went to ikea today and survived. Not only that I managed to get. Stand for my up cycled lampshade. You like? It’s going in my office, to cheer me as I work. Ive also done a couple of collages fòr Stasherella. And, most excitingly, a number of my quilts are going into auction here…

Phoenix

I had this vintage cushion cover sitting on my sofa for months held together with safety pins. Well tonight, I sewed it together and added some funky Felt decorated corners. It’s kept its character but is a lot more presentable now!

Thursday’s child

…has far to go. Here’s a well travelled example for a wet and windy Thursday. Completely wrecked but beautiful anyway. It even has an odd Block included because only God can create perfection. Feel the stories this quilt could tell….

Maggie May

Today I joined our local quilt group. Again. And I met a friend of my mother. Maggie Davies is a quilting celebrity now – look at her beautiful handiwork here and below. The quilts are very simple in construction which leaves lots of opportunity to play with colour. She talks a lot about her design ideas and metaphors…

Local quilts by local people

To a local quilt show. I love quilt shows, especially local ones. I live in an area with a healthy underground network of quilters. I always think of it as a secret society. Up until quite recently I’ve been relatively reticent about my love, nay obsession, with quilting. Well, it’s not been the most understood…

London buses…

My projects are like London Buses…you wait for ages and then 3 come along together. Here’s a peek at what I’m fiddling around with at the moment. Just to whet your appetite…  This is part of a sewing swap I’m taking part in – I’ve talked about these before. A great excuse to try new…

There’s a hole…

Inspired by Cheria’s blog and My Mumsnet companions, here’s my bucket list dear Liza, dear Liza…. Go to Iceland – I’ve been in love with the place since Echo and the Bunnymen went there in their ‘Porcupine’ days Go to Japan – eat sushi and drink tea and visit hello kitty world, plus Japanese quilts…
