Wow, here I am again! You can tell I’ve been at home with the boys can’t you? They’ve both had horrible colds- I’ve been running around feeding them bits and bobs and trying to keep them from killing each other at the same time. It’s amazing how much energy small children have even when they feel terrible.

So, I’ve been in the kitchen most of the day, and here’s what I’ve come up with. The first is a white pizza named after the lovely pizzas I’ve had in Italy with my sister. Only this uses our leftovers. I had some frozen puff pastry in the freezer which I defrosted, added a bit of olive oil on top, some cheese sauce ( out of the packet I’m sorry I’m sorry) and then sliced some cold cooked potatoes on top and a bit of Parmesan. All in the oven for 15 minutes – shazam!

The second is my first ever attempt at chutney. You remember my Apple glut? Well this is part two. I cut up about 20 apples and stewed it down with some white wine vinegar and sherry vinegar and Demerara sugar. I also lobbed in some raisins and dried apricots. The whole lot cooked with the lid on for about 40 minutes and then with the lid off for about 10. I have never made chutney before but, with some mustard and some nutmeg added for the last 10 minutes it tastes okay! Let’s see whether I’ve managed to do it without getting bacteria in there?!

So, a domestic day, and a good one Now I’ve got to clear up the mess I made… See you in about two weeks time!
