To 2008 – a pretty rough year all round. I wanted to show you the wallhanging I made for the Festival of Quilts the following year. It’s made from a variety of fabrics, cotton, calico, lace, ribbon, a baby blanket I acidentally felted in the machine. I bleached the black fabric and ripped it up into strips then wove it together again, incorporating the other bits and bobs. The stiching is a mix of hand and machine – I didnt bind it, rather I left it all rough and angry looking – a metaphor for how I was feeling. It hangs on my bedroom wall to remindme that things can only get better….
