So, the avid readers amoungst you may remember that I used to go to school in Germany. I retain my German albeit a trickle rather than proper flüßig and I definitely retain my love love love for the place. I feel completely at home in Germany, even thought it is radically different to when I was there back in the mid to late 80’s.
I am due to revisit old stomping grounds soon in a birthday treat of a flying visit to Munich, my old home town. Last time was there I was interrailing with my boys and my BF and her kids. It was just before my world turned upside down. This time I am returning as a new person really but again about to have my world changed … the wedding is in January and preps are hosting up.
I can’t help but look back to where I was last time I was in Germany to now. Health wise it’s a car crash but everything else is i think better. Little One continues to be a source of tween/teen concern. Elder is developing his social life with great aplomb. I stand on the sidelines and worry about their well-being, homework and money. So nothing new there then. And Mr Stitch (his new label i think) is managing to hold on tight as we hit the white water of chaotic life at Stitch Towers.
Life is hard, it’s a bitch, but it’s good too and that’s enough for me.
